Some new music for you…
Fenech Soler ‘s new single ‘Stop & Stare’ is out this month on Moda Music (Jaymo & Andy George’s label). A brilliant and promising new band from Kings Cliffe (nr Peterborough), reminiscent of about where Friendly Fires where this time last year- only, better in my opinion! Be sure to check these guys out on myspace for more…

Two Door Cinema Club ‘s album amazes me time and time again. I think I have listened to it all the way through about 100 times in the month I have had it in my collection! Highlights include ‘Undercover Martyn’ and throbbing indie dance tune ‘I Can Talk’. There is also a whole bag of wicked remixes around, such as the Undercover Martyn (Jupiter Remix) and Something Good Can Work (The Twelves Remix)…

Crookers ’s long awaited LP was released last month. It has taken a few listens to understand why it took so long to make to be honest. I was a massive fan of Crookers a while ago before the ‘Day’n’Night’ remix which took over everything by storm once it made it into the charts (it featured as an un-released tune on the Australian dance label’s ‘One Love’ compilation on Disc 3, the Crookers ‘Backroom’ mix which I bought when in Oz in 2008). They have had some brilliant tunes, my highlight being ‘Knobbers’. Onto the album, it is a mixed bag, but highlights include ‘Remedy’ re-work of Miike Snow’s tune, and ‘We Love Animals’ (feat. Soulwax)…. Crookers are great, but I can’t help but feel they were much cooler a few years back and for me, still haven’t beat ‘Knobbers’!
A few more tunes to check out;
Prototype (Modeselektor’s Broken Handbrake Remix)- Headhunter
Pacha on Acid- Afrojack
Filter Freak (DCUP Remix)- Denzal Park
